The Tristate Chapter of the Association of Equipment Management Professionals of Cincinnati, Ohio held their April meeting at the corporate headquarters of Venturo Manufacturing Inc., in Sharonville, Ohio. The Tristate Chapter is a local committee of the Educational Committee of the Ohio Contractors Association.
Venturo hosted this event titled “Articulating Cranes vs Straight Boom Cranes” and utilized one of their Crane School Service Trucks to demonstrate the advantages and differences between a knuckle boom and straight boom crane. Venturo featured a Kenworth 26,000 GVW truck mounted with a Ferrari 714 articulating crane behind the cab while also mounting a Venturo HT50KX on the rear passenger corner. Participants to the event were given a thorough education on both cranes by Dave Foster, Venturo Installation Center Manager, before being handed the remote controls and turned loose to operate both cranes.
Ron Hutchinson, Construction Equipment Manager of Barrett Paving, Cincinnati, Ohio and the Tristate Chapter President, wrapped up the meeting by sharing how important it is to partner with local OEM’s and Equipment Managers and how important it is to understand correct equipment operations and procedures.
