  VP6S & VC6S

The VP6S and VC6S are heavy duty high capacity pickup hoists, built to handle the toughest of loads. These hoists are custom designed to fit your 1999-2003 (2004/5 diesel only) Chevy Silverado/GMC Sierra 8-foot box pickup truck. Offered in VP (for original equipment pickup box) and VC (for contractor box) configurations.

Can I install my own pickup hoist?

Yes, but only if you are experienced in truck equipment installation. We strongly recommend installation by an authorized Venco installer.

Why does Venco recommend an Installer?

Any installation requires basic mechanical skills and the tools to support the installation including a welder. Venco Pickup Hoists are designed to be installed in 8-12 man hours depending on the particular pickup model and the experience of the installer.

For what pickup models are the Venco Hoists designed?

The pickup hoists are designed specifically for Full-size "3/4 Ton" trucks with 2 Wheel Drive and an 8' box. Installations on other trucks such as short beds, 4WD, and extended cabs will likely require modification(s) to the hoist and/or truck.

Can I install on Mid Size and Compact Pickups?

We strongly recommend against doing so. Some final stage vehicle manufacturers (installers) may say "yes, we can do it with modifications". However, you must not exceed the Gross Vehicle Weight of the pickup (shown on the certification label) when the truck bed is loaded. All warranties on the hoist are void if the vehicle manufacturer's stated GVW is exceeded. Our experience shows that these trucks simply will not hold up as dumping units over time. Truck failures include engines, transmissions, frames, springs, brakes, axles, boxes/beds, and tires.

Installation-specific Questions (e.g. where is gas filler located)

HINGE BRACKETS - They bolt on using brackets pre-drilled to accommodate specific makes and models of pickup trucks.

REINSTALLING BUMPERS - The orginal factory bumper can be reinstalled without modification. This is accomplished by welding the bumper brackets to the hoist hinge brackets. Bumpers supplied by the aftermarket may require some modification of the Venco brackets. The bumper will then tilt with the body.

CAN I PULL A TRAILER AFTER INSTALLING THE BUMPER - Yes, in most cases you can maintain the original rating of the bumper up to Class II. Receiver hitches can be used, but may require relocation to prevent interference with the bumper when dumping.

GAS OR DIESEL FUEL FILLER NECK - We recommend rerouting the fuel filler to the fenderwell rather than attempting to provide a cut out in the pickup body. Fenderwell refueling may require raising the body slightly to gain access to the fuel filler.
